Building pathways to stability and stronger communities.
Bethlehem Way Family Services (BWFS) is a Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by leaders with extensive experience in community development, supportive housing, and trauma-informed clinical care. The organization emerged from a deep conviction that every individual deserves a dignified, safe, and affordable place to live.
While continuing to honor and actively support our nation's military veterans, our housing programs are designed to serve the broader community: seniors (55+), individuals with disabilities, fixed-income residents, working families, and individuals transitioning from housing instability.

Headquartered in Valrico, Florida, we partner closely with local housing authorities, HUD initiatives, healthcare providers, and community networks to ensure our residents not only find shelter, but discover a supportive community that helps them thrive.

Leadership
The founder behind the mission
Dr. Jomo Z.M. Thomas is a behavioral health executive, licensed clinician, and the founder of Bethlehem Way Family Services. Holding a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, active LMFT licensure across three states, and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, he brings a rare combination of clinical depth and operational discipline to BWFS.
Over two decades, Dr. Thomas has directed high-volume clinical operations, managed supportive community and military family programs, and served as Clinical Director overseeing over 15,000 annual patient interactions. He established BWFS to deliver compliant, high-excellence supportive housing for seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and underserved community members.
